Build a Case With Training Metrics
Evaluating training continues to be a doubleedged sword. On the one hand we want to measure the impact of our training programs. On the other hand, there are inherent risks to evaluating our work. The worst-case scenario is—we won’t measure up. Yet, we can’t ignore the validity of the value that training metrics provide.
The training industry is replete with resources for measuring, evaluating, and understanding training metrics. If we quieted all of the industry chatter and just looked at training metrics from the rationale of sound logic and good business practice, understanding the impact of what we do, simply makes sense.
